Paradise Natural Living Society (PNLS) is a charitable organization founded in 2016 and duly registered under the Societies Act of Kenya. We are driven by a simple but profound vision: healthy communities thriving in harmony with nature. Our mission is to improve sustainable agriculture in Kenya through organic farming, environmental conservation, and youth education. We believe that by empowering people with knowledge and tools to live in balance with the environment, we can cultivate a future of hope, resilience, and abundance for all.
Our Work in Kenya
From hands-on training on organic farms to school garden projects, PNLS works on the ground to turn our vision into reality. Our programs focus on practical solutions that directly benefit farmers, uplift youth, and protect the environment. These initiatives are already making a tangible impact in communities across Kenya:
- Sustainable Farming & Farmer Training: We train small-scale farmers in organic and regenerative agriculture techniques, helping them improve crop yields without harmful chemicals. By embracing methods like composting and natural pest management, farmers restore soil health and boost food security in their communities. The result is more abundant harvests and healthier families, all while preserving Kenya’s soils and biodiversity for future generations.
- Organic Food Advocacy: We champion the benefits of organic, locally grown food through workshops, demonstration gardens, and community outreach. By promoting nutritious, chemical-free produce, PNLS improves public health and creates markets for farmers committed to sustainable practices. Our advocacy for organic diets and preventive health has the twin benefit of fighting malnutrition and reducing exposure to toxic agro-chemicals.
- Environmental Stewardship: Protecting the land is at the heart of everything we do. PNLS leads tree-planting drives, water conservation efforts, and sustainable agroforestry projects to help farming communities become environmental stewards. By farming in harmony with nature, local families build climate resilience and safeguard vital resources. In practice, this means cleaner water, restored forests, and a cooler climate – nurturing both the Earth and livelihoods.
- Youth Education & Empowerment: We invest in the next generation of green leaders. Through school programs, mentorship, and our International Learning Center initiative, PNLS gives youth practical education in sustainable agriculture and environmental science. Young people gain hands-on skills – from tending organic gardens to recycling and conservation – inspiring them to become change-makers in their communities. Empowering youth with knowledge and opportunity not only secures the future of our mission, but also tackles rural youth unemployment by fostering new livelihoods in eco-friendly farming.
Aligned with Global Goals
Our commitment on the ground in Kenya aligns with global sustainable development efforts. In particular, PNLS advances several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We contribute directly to Zero Hunger (SDG 2), which calls to “end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture”. At the same time, our focus on organic farming and environmental preservation supports Climate Action (SDG 13), which urges societies to “take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”. By training farmers and educating youth, we also further Quality Education (SDG 4) and by restoring ecosystems we help realize Life on Land (SDG 15). Each vegetable garden we plant, each tree we save, and each student we mentor is a step toward these global goals – a local act with worldwide significance.
Building Resilient Communities
We recognize the urgency of environmental stewardship and food system resilience in today’s world. Kenya’s economy heavily relies on agriculture, which supports over 80% of the rural population. Yet climate change is already disrupting this lifeline – unpredictable rains and rising temperatures are reducing yields of staple crops like maize and beans, putting communities at risk. Every organic farm we establish and every young mind we enlighten is a bulwark against these threats. By helping farmers adopt climate-smart, sustainable practices, PNLS is strengthening community resilience to droughts and floods. By teaching youth to care for the land, we’re planting seeds of environmental consciousness that will grow for generations. In this way, our work is not just about farming – it’s about safeguarding a way of life in the face of global challenges.
Join Our Mission
The support of international donors and partners is vital to expanding this transformative work. When you support PNLS, you are not just donating – you are investing in a brighter future for Kenyan communities and our planet. Your partnership can help a farmer transition to organic methods, ensuring her family’s livelihood and protecting the local ecosystem. It can help a rural school build a garden that feeds its students and teaches them invaluable lessons about nature. With every contribution, we are able to train more farmers, educate more youth, and regenerate more land – multiplying hope and opportunity. Together, we are proving that sustainable agriculture and environmental care are powerful tools to fight hunger, poverty, and climate change. Together, we can cultivate a more sustainable, resilient, and hopeful future for Kenya and beyond. Every new donor, every volunteer, and every advocate becomes part of the PNLS family – joining us in our mission to heal the Earth and empower its people, one seed at a time.
